Korean production giant Showbox has released the official trailer for its upcoming horror mystery, Devils Stay, directed by Hyun Moon-seop, and announced its release date of 14th November, 2024. The film stars renowned actors Park Shin-yang, Lee Min-ki, and rising star Lee Re.

The chilling storyline centers on Seung-do, a heart specialist whose daughter, So-mi, begins exhibiting disturbing and unexplainable symptoms. Desperate, Seung-do and his wife turn to priest Ban, who believes an exorcism is their only hope. However, despite their efforts, So-mi tragically dies during the ritual. As her funeral commences, Seung-do becomes convinced that So-mi is still alive, noticing faint signs of life in her body—an assertion priest Ban vehemently denies, insisting that the devil still possesses her. The film unravels the suspenseful mystery over the course of So-mi’s three-day funeral, as Seung-do and Ban face off to discover the terrifying truth.

Devils Stay is a Showbox presentation, produced by I Film Co Ltd in association with Mayday Studio. The film promises to deliver a gripping mix of horror and mystery, with an intense narrative that challenges perceptions of life and death.

This comes on the heels of Showbox’s recent success with Exhuma, which grossed over $84 million at the Korean box office. The production company is gearing up for a string of releases, including The Verdict, a crime drama by Lee Chang-hee, and White Blast, a mystery thriller directed by Hong Eui-jeong.

Devils Stay is expected to add to Showbox’s lineup of strong offerings, continuing its streak of box office hits in Korean cinema.
