Hanumankind, the breakout Indian rapper behind the hit track Big Dawgs, is set to perform at the iconic Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2025. This marks a historic moment as he becomes only the second Indian artist to take the stage at the festival, following Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s performance in 2023.
The festival’s highly anticipated lineup, unveiled on Thursday via the official Coachella website, boasts a stellar roster. Headliners include pop icon Lady Gaga, rock legends Green Day, and rap superstar Post Malone. Travis Scott is slated to appear as a special guest, with other major acts such as Missy Elliott, Charli XCX, and Megan Thee Stallion also taking the stage.
Hanumankind is expected to perform during the festival’s second day on either April 12 or April 19.
Born Sooraj Cherukat in Kerala and raised in Texas, Hanumankind began his musical journey in 2019 with Daily Dosefrom his debut EP Kalari. Despite his early efforts, it wasn’t until 2024 that he skyrocketed to fame with Big Dawgs.
The track’s explosive success propelled it to No. 9 on the Billboard Top 200 list and No. 8 on the US Excl. Charts, even overtaking Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us.
In addition to his music, Hanumankind has made a mark in the Malayalam film industry. His song The Last Dance, a collaboration with composer Sushin Shyam, was part of the soundtrack for the 2024 hit Malayalam film Aavesham. He is also venturing into acting, with his debut set in Aashiq Abu’s forthcoming movie Rifle Club.
Coachella, founded in 1999 by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen, is a premier music and arts festival held in Indio, California. Hosted in the scenic Coachella Valley of the Colorado Desert, the event spans two weekends—April 11-13 and April 18-20 in 2025.
Pre-sale tickets went live on Thursday, November 21, at 11 a.m. PT, with general ticket sales starting Friday, November 22, at the same time. Fans worldwide are gearing up to witness an eclectic mix of music, including Hanumankind’s much-anticipated set.
