Production is officially underway in London for Guy Ritchie’s untitled crime drama series on Paramount+, featuring an all-star cast led by Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan. Initially conceived as a spin-off of Showtime’s Ray Donovan, the project has evolved into a standalone narrative set in the gritty underbelly of London. The series is expected to premiere in 2025 on Paramount+ with Showtime.

The series, described as a one-hour gangster drama, follows two feuding London families with global business interests and the “fixer” tasked with safeguarding one of them. Tom Hardy stars as Harry Da Souza, a “professional conciliator” working for the Harrigan family. Pierce Brosnan plays Conrad Harrigan, the formidable head of an Irish crime family, while Helen Mirren portrays Maeve Harrigan, the family’s matriarch.

Chris McCarthy, Paramount Global Co-CEO, praised the cast and creative team:
“Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren are masters at their craft, and we are honored to have them lead the cast for Guy Ritchie’s new global, original series. Guy, Jez Butterworth, and Ronan Bennett’s creative prowess, coupled with these gifted actors, is the perfect recipe for what we believe will be the next brand-defining series for Showtime on Paramount+.”

The project reunites Hardy with Ritchie, who previously collaborated on the 2008 film RocknRolla. Mirren, currently starring in Paramount’s Yellowstone prequel 1923, continues her association with the network through this project.

The powerhouse creative team includes writer Ronan Bennett (Top Boy), who also serves as executive producer alongside Ritchie, Jez Butterworth, Keith Cox, Kris Thykier, and Hardy himself. Jeff Grossman, Paramount+ EVP of Programming, expressed excitement for the series, calling it a blend of “high-caliber acting, high-impact storylines, and high-level production from some of the best in the business.”

Ritchie’s signature style in the crime genre has previously delivered hits such as SnatchThe Man From U.N.C.L.E., and The Gentlemen, the latter recently adapted into a Netflix series renewed for a second season. Meanwhile, Bennett brings a wealth of experience, having created acclaimed works like Top Boy and the upcoming The Day of the Jackal adaptation starring Eddie Redmayne.

With a stellar cast, an acclaimed creative team, and a compelling storyline, the yet-untitled series is already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases on Paramount+.
