Imran Khan is officially set to make his long-awaited return to the screen, and he will be seen romancing Bhumi Pednekar in Netflix India’s upcoming romantic dramedy, according to reports. While the deal is yet to be formally signed, Bhumi is said to be enthusiastic about joining the project, which promises to showcase a fresh and unconventional pairing.
After tackling gritty roles in films like Bhakshak, Afwaah, and Bheed, Bhumi is eager to explore a more playful genre. This marks her third collaboration with Netflix India, following her lauded performance in Bhakshak and the forthcoming rom-com series The Royals alongside Ishaan Khatter.
The untitled project reunites Imran Khan with director Danish Aslam, who directed him in the 2010 rom-com Break Ke Baad. Co-produced by Imran, Danish, and Open Air Films, the movie is being touted as a “dysfunctional romantic dramedy” with a breezy and entertaining vibe reminiscent of Imran’s most beloved roles. The script, penned by Suhani Kanwar, is nearing completion, with pre-production set to begin after the final draft is locked next month. Filming is expected to start in March 2025.
