Warner Bros. has officially slotted Final Destination 6, titled “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” for release on 16 May, 2025, marking a significant return for the popular horror franchise after a 14-year hiatus. Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the film promises to revive the chilling premise of young individuals narrowly escaping death, only to face a series of bizarre and deadly accidents.
The summer release places “Bloodlines” in a competitive box office landscape, debuting two weeks after Disney’s Marvel feature Thunderbolts and a week ahead of “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” and Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch”. Despite the high-stakes lineup, Warner Bros. remains confident, noting that the mid-May slot has historically proven fruitful for genre films like “A Quiet Place Part II” and “The Hangover”.
The Final Destination series, which began in 2000, has remained a standout in horror cinema, grossing $657 million globally across its five installments. With Bloodlines, fans can expect the signature suspense, creative death sequences, and a reinvigorated take on the franchise’s enduring theme of mortality.
