Prime Video has announced that its upcoming biblical drama series, House of David, will premiere on 27 February, 2025. The highly anticipated series, from visionary filmmakers Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn, will debut with three episodes, followed by one episode released weekly thereafter in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

House of David stars Michael Iskander as David, who was cast after a four-month international search and is fresh off his role in the Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo. The series also features Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, Saul’s trusted wife, Stephen Lang as Samuel, and Martyn Ford as Goliath.

The show tells the story of the rise of the biblical figure David, who would go on to become the most celebrated king of Israel. The series explores the downfall of King Saul, who succumbs to pride and self-doubt, while David is anointed by the prophet Samuel to replace him as king. As Saul’s power wanes, David embarks on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he is destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.

Additional cast members include Indy Lewis as Mychal, Yali Topol Margalith as Mirab, Saul’s daughters; Ethan Kai as Jonathan, Saul’s son and heir apparent; Sam Otto as Eshbaal, the irreverent middle child; Oded Fehr as Abner, Saul’s advisor; Louis Ferreira as Jesse, David’s father; Davood Ghadami as Eliab, David’s eldest brother and decorated warrior in Saul’s army; Ashraf Barhom as Doeg, a mysterious Edomite; and Alexander Uloom as King Achish.

House of David is based on an idea by Jon Erwin, who serves as an executive producer alongside Jon Gunn, Jonathan Lloyd Walker, Justin Rosenblatt, Chad Oakes, and Michael Frislev. Justin Rosenblatt is the executive in charge of production on behalf of Wonder Project. Dallas Jenkins, the creator and producer-director of The Chosen, is a shareholder and special advisor to Wonder Project.

The series is produced in association with Wonder Project and Amazon MGM Studios, with Nomadic Pictures and Argonauts, along with Kingdom Story Company and Lionsgate Television, handling production.
