The third season of The White Lotus is heading to Thailand, and HBO has revealed the first official trailer. The latest chapter of Mike White’s Emmy-winning satirical drama premiere Monday on HBO and will be available to stream on Max.
“Seeking peace can be a trip,” HBO teased alongside the trailer. A voiceover within the nearly 90-second teaser sets the tone: “Everyone runs from pain towards pleasure. But they get there only to find more pain.” Known for its biting commentary on wealth, privilege, and human behavior, the first season of The White Lotus tackled themes of money, while the second season explored sex. Plot specifics for season three are being tightly guarded, but creator Mike White has shared that the new season will deliver “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”
The new installment is set at an exclusive Thai resort and follows the misadventures of its guests and employees over the course of a week. This time, the cast is as sprawling as ever, introducing an array of characters played by a mix of familiar faces and exciting newcomers. Natasha Rothwell returns as Belinda Lindsey, the Hawaii spa manager from season one, while newcomers Carrie Coon, Scott Glenn, Walton Goggins, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, and Parker Posey join the ensemble.
Walton Goggins, reflecting on his involvement, said, “The offer brought me to tears,” signaling the emotional resonance of the upcoming season. Also joining the show is Blackpink member Lisa Manobal, in addition to Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Tayme Thapthimthong, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Aimee Lou Wood, Nicholas Duvernay, Francesca Corney, Arnas Fedaravičius, Christian Friedel, Morgana O’Reilly, Lek Patravadi, and Shalini Peiris.
The trailer delivers lush visuals of Thailand’s stunning landscapes and teases themes of pleasure, pain, and the pursuit of peace. With White’s signature storytelling style and an intriguing premise, the third season is already setting up to be another sharp, satirical ride.
The White Lotus is created, written, and directed by Mike White, who also serves as executive producer alongside David Bernad and Mark Kamine.
