Italian heartthrob Michele Morrone, best known for his steamy role in Netflix’s 365 Days, has joined the star-studded cast of Lionsgate’s upcoming thriller The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig, according to Deadline exclusive report. The movie reunites Morrone with Feig, following their collaboration on the sequel to A Simple Favor.
Morrone will share the screen with Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, and Brandon Sklenar in the Rebecca Sonnenshine adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel. Sweeney takes on the role of Millie, a young woman eager to turn her life around as a housemaid for the wealthy and enigmatic Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Sklenar). However, Millie soon discovers that the couple’s dark secrets make her own troubles pale in comparison.
Feig is producing the film through Hidden Pictures/Feigco Entertainment, alongside Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures. Carly Kleinbart Elter will oversee the project for Hidden Pictures, while Sweeney and Seyfried serve as executive producers alongside Alex Young and author Freida McFadden.
Besides, The Housemaid, Morrone is set to star in James Franco and Bella Thorne’s Bunny-Man and Bobby Moresco’s Maserati: The Brothers, where he will play Alfieri Il Maserati opposite Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba.
Hidden Pictures’ Todd Lieberman is producing, with Carly Kleinbart Elter overseeing for Hidden Pictures. Lionsgate’s Chelsea Kujawa and Erin Jones-Wesley are managing the project for the studio, while Phil Strina handled negotiations.
Feigco Entertainment’s Paul Feig and Laura Fischer are also producing, ensuring a thrilling adaptation of McFadden’s dark, twist-filled novel.
