Netflix is set to pay tribute to the life and career of world-renowned DJ and music producer Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, with the release of two highly anticipated projects on 31 December, 2024. The streaming platform will debut Avicii – I’m Tim, a documentary that intimately explores the life and legacy of the Swedish artist, alongside Avicii – My Last Show, featuring his final performance at Ibiza’s Ushuaïa.
Directed by Henrik Burman and produced by Björn Tjärnberg, the 95-minute documentary offers an unfiltered look into Bergling’s life. It pieces together never-before-seen footage, personal home movies, and insights from family, friends, and artist collaborators. Narrated by Avicii himself, the film chronicles his journey from a shy Stockholm boy born in 1989 to one of the most celebrated and influential electronic artists in the world. It also sheds light on his inner struggles, culminating in his tragic passing in Oman in 2018.

“This is the unlikely story of Tim Bergling, a shy and insecure boy who, without realizing it, suddenly created one of the world’s most loved artists – Avicii,” the film notes reveal. Through Tim’s voice and personal archives, audiences will get to know the man behind the global hits, from his humble beginnings to the emotional and mental toll of fame.
