Nation awardee actor Manoj Bajpayee is set to start the new year with a series of exciting projects including an action-comedy project Inspector Zende for Netflix in 2025, according to exclusive report by Peepingmoon.com. In 2024, Bajpayee delivered four releases across OTT and theaters, including Despatch, Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout, Bhaiyya Ji and others.
The Netflix original action-comedy will see Bajpayee in the role of a police inspector, promising an engaging blend of action, suspense, and humor. He will star alongside Jim Sarbh, known for his role in Rocket Boys. Filming for the movie began last week in Mumbai, with Sarbh and the rest of the cast already on set. Bajpayee is scheduled to join them on 5 January, and the team plans to complete the shoot by the end of February in a single uninterrupted schedule.
The film will be directed by Chinmay Mandlekar, a renowned Marathi actor known for portraying the legendary figure of Chhatrapathi Shivaji Maharaj in several acclaimed historical dramas. Inspector Zende will mark Mandlekar’s feature directorial debut after more than two decades in acting. The film is being produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut, with Shewakramani continuing his association with Netflix after his work on Freddy and Jaane Jaan.
For Bajpayee, this film marks his fourth collaboration with Netflix, following previous projects like Mrs. Serial Killer, Ray, and Killer Soup. Jim Sarbh, too, has worked with Netflix on shows like Yeh Ballet and Eternally Confused and Eager for Love.
Bajpayee’s schedule for 2025 is filled with high-profile projects. The actor is expected to wrap up filming for The Family Man 3, the spy action series from Raj & DK, set for a global release on Amazon Prime Video during Diwali 2025. In March 2025, Bajpayee will begin shooting for Shekhar Kapoor’s Masoom: The New Generation, where he will share the screen with Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, and Kaveri Kapur. Bajpayee is also collaborating with his Satya director, Ram Gopal Varma, on a new action thriller, though details of that project are currently under wraps.
