Netflix thrilled anime enthusiasts at Jump Festa 2025, unveiling a slate of exciting upcoming titles and interactive experiences. The event, held December 21-22 at Makuhari Messe near Tokyo, showcased the latest developments in anime, drawing fans from around the globe.

Organized by Shueisha’s five leading magazines — Weekly Shonen Jump, Shonen Jump+, V Jump, Jump Square, and Saikyo Jump — Jump Festa is Japan’s largest annual manga and anime convention. Netflix’s booth emerged as a major highlight, featuring much-anticipated series like SAKAMOTO DAYS, Blue Box, DAN DA DAN, and Dragon Ball DAIMA.

SAKAMOTO DAYS Booth: An Interactive Journey into the Hitman’s World

Fans were immersed in the everyday yet extraordinary life of Taro Sakamoto, the retired hitman-turned-family man, at the SAKAMOTO DAYS booth. Interactive games and displays brought the world of the series to life, building anticipation for its January 11 Netflix premiere.

Voice actors Tomokazu Sugita (Taro Sakamoto), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shin Asakura), and Ayane Sakura (Lu Shaotang) delighted fans at the booth, announcing additional cast members Hiroki Yasumoto (Hyo), Hochu Otsuka (Takamura), and Daisuke Namikawa (X/Slur).

The series blends action and humor as Sakamoto fends off relentless assassins while maintaining his peaceful family life. A recently released trailer promises an unforgettable viewing experience.

Blue Box: New Characters, Themes, and Emotional Depth

Now streaming its first part on Netflix, the coming-of-age romance Blue Box announced major updates, including a new character, Ayame Moriya, voiced by Kana Ichinose, in its second part. The second season teases pivotal character developments and emotional transformations.

Voice actors Shoya Chiba (Taiki Inomata), Reina Ueda (Chinatsu Kano), and others introduced a new trailer featuring the opening theme, “Saraba” by Macaroni Empitsu, and ending theme, “Contrast” by TOMOO. The series, praised for its relatable characters and heartfelt storytelling, continues to capture viewers’ hearts.

Other Highlights: DAN DA DAN, Dragon Ball DAIMA, and Beyond

Netflix’s anime catalog continues to make waves. DAN DA DAN, a blend of occult battles and youthful escapades, has maintained its place in the platform’s Global Top 10 (Non-English series) for ten consecutive weeks. Season 2 is set to debut in July 2025.

Meanwhile, Dragon Ball DAIMA extends the beloved franchise, staying in the Global Top 10 for three weeks since its release. SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, which hit theaters in 2023, began streaming on Netflix in select regions on December 22.

Looking ahead, fans can expect Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, the final season of the acclaimed series, to launch on January 9. Additionally, a new anime adaptation of ONE PIECE by WIT Studio is on the horizon, starting with the East Blue Saga.
