Josh Duhamel, Dylan Sprouse, and Til Schweiger have wrapped production on The Neglected, a high-octane action thriller directed and co-written by David Lipper, reported Deadline exclusively. Filmed in Mississippi, the project is set to deliver a gripping tale of survival and redemption, with Red Sea Media handling sales.

In the film, Duhamel stars as Detective Shaw, a man on the verge of retirement who faces his most harrowing case yet. On his final day of work, Shaw discovers that a serial killer has buried his son alive. Racing against the clock, he must solve three murders to locate his son before time runs out. Joining the cast are Jeremy and Jason London, along with Elena Sanchez, adding depth to this intense narrative.

Lipper has co-written the screenplay with Adam G. Levine, and also serves as producer alongside Robert A. Daly Jr., Mark Canton, Dorothy Canton, Denise Loren, Mark Fasano, and Ryan Winterstern. Executive producers include Roman Kopelevich, Justin Levine, Timothy Alek Mulley, and Kimberly Hines, with Kipp Tribble as co-producer and Oliver Scott as co-executive producer.

Producer Daly Jr. expressed his enthusiasm for the project, said, “David, the director, has championed this project for years. We could not be more excited to see this project come to life.” Lipper added, “I think audiences are going to relate to the big question facing Shaw (Duhamel) in this film: who and what have we neglected in our lives and what is the cause and effect of that?”

Duhamel was recently seen alongside Jennifer Lopez in Shotgun Wedding and has couple of upcoming projects including Netflix’s family drama series Ransom Canyon, the crime thriller Full Throttle Mindset with Lukas Gage, and Joe Carnahan’s survival thriller Not Without Hope alongside Zachary Levi.

Sprouse is known for his recent performances in romantic comedies such as After We Collided and Beautiful Disaster. Upcoming projects for the actor include The Duel, Aftermath, and Under Fire. Schweiger, celebrated for his roles in Inglourious Basterds and Atomic Blonde, recently starred in Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Lipper’s prior credits include Murder at Hollow Creek and horror films such as Wolf Mountain and Death Link, showcasing his range as a filmmaker.
