Netflix’s gripping true crime series I AM A KILLER is back, with its sixth season set to premiere globally on 8 January, 2025. The new season will bring six brand-new episodes, featuring chilling stories of convicted murderers who recount and reflect on the crimes that altered lives and landed them behind bars.

Since its debut in 2018, I AM A KILLER has captivated audiences with its unique approach to true crime storytelling, featuring raw and intimate interviews with death row inmates. The show has earned widespread acclaim, with critics like Ready Steady Cut calling it both “chilling and compelling.” Season 6 will build on this legacy, taking the episode count to 44 over its run.

The season 6 episodes explore a range of harrowing cases, from an alleged tribal feud to the fallout of a deadly drug deal. Among the subjects featured is Candie Dominguez, who went on trial in 2018 for the brutal murder of her cousin in 2014. Her story, set to be explored in Episode 2, includes details of luring her cousin to her home and dismembering the body after her boyfriend allegedly killed him. Episode 4 will spotlight Terry Dunkin, Kimberly Dunkin, and Jerry Broyles, a trio convicted in 2007 for the death of a teenager who was beaten to death with a baseball bat. Episode 5 focuses on Leroy Schmitz, sentenced to 100 years in prison at the age of 42 for the murder of his wife of just 10 weeks in 1999.

The series, produced by the UK-based Transistor Films, has been a mainstay in Netflix’s crime documentary lineup. Season 5, released in October 2024, marked the first of a two-season renewal announced in March 2024. While earlier seasons consistently landed in Netflix’s global top 10 during their first week of release, recent seasons have seen a decline in viewership.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming season, I AM A KILLER continues to challenge viewers with its raw exploration of humanity, morality, and the haunting consequences of violent crime.
