Mehsana, Gujarat – A historic partnership between Medhavi Skills University, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and the Amrit Mehsana Start-up Innovation Mission has resulted in the launch of NaMo iHUB, India’s first district-level startup and innovation hub. The initiative, unveiled on January 2, 2025, aims to significantly boost employment and skill development across Gujarat. The inauguration was attended by Shri Rushikesh Patel ji, Honourable Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Higher & Technical Education, Law and Justice, Government of Gujarat, alongside local elected representatives, academicians, and industry leaders.

The new Center of Excellence (CoE) will serve as the central body in Mehsana district, focusing on equipping the local workforce with industry-specific skills. It aims to address regional skill challenges, promote industry-academia partnerships, and create both local and global employment opportunities for the youth of Gujarat.

The CoE will offer state-of-the-art training facilities and deliver industry-aligned, skill-based courses. As the knowledge and technology partner, NSDC will provide critical support in integrating technology and fostering industry collaborations. The training facility is set to serve 2,000 individuals annually, with programs catering to sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, electronics, agriculture, and textiles.

The Center will partner with over 100 industries and MSMEs to ensure learners receive specialized, work-integrated training. Additionally, NaMo iHub will offer international placement programs, equipping learners with the skills needed for global employment opportunities.

Mr. Mayank Bhatnagar, General Manager-State Engagement at NSDC, highlighted the importance of the initiative: “This initiative exemplifies the power of collaboration in addressing regional skill development challenges. The NaMo iHub will not only strengthen Gujarat’s industrial landscape but also ensure the state remains at the forefront of skill innovation. By fostering industry-academia learning, we are equipping Gujarat’s youth with skills that transcend borders, ensuring their readiness for both local and global opportunities.”

Shri M. Nagarajan, IAS, District Collector of Mehsana, added, “The establishment of the NaMo iHub in Mehsana is a significant milestone in our mission to drive sustainable economic growth through skill development. This Center of Excellence not only addresses the needs of key sectors like manufacturing and electronics but also provides specialized programs for international employment.”

Mr. Kuldip Sarma, Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor of Medhavi Skills University, also expressed his enthusiasm: “The Center of Excellence is a testament to MSU’s dedication to bridging the gap between education and industry. Together with DCOM and NSDC, we aim to create a transformative ecosystem for skill development in Gujarat.”
