CBS has announced the premiere of its latest medical mystery series, WATSON, starring Morris Chestnut. The show is set to debut immediately following the AFC Championship Game on Sunday, 26 January, 2025. The exact start time will follow post-game coverage, with viewers able to catch the premiere on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.
WATSON will take over its regular Sunday night slot starting 16 February, airing from 10:00 to 11:00 PM ET/PT. The series kicks off six months after the dramatic death of Sherlock Holmes, leaving Dr. John Watson, played by Chestnut, to navigate life without his legendary partner. As the head of a clinic focusing on rare disorders, Watson finds himself entangled in new mysteries, this time within the realm of medicine. The show promises to blend the intrigue of detective work with the complexities of modern medical cases.
The cast includes Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Ritchie Coster, Inga Schlingmann, and Rochelle Aytes. The series brings together an impressive lineup of executive producers, including Craig Sweeny, who also penned the premiere episode and serves as showrunner, alongside Morris Chestnut, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, and Shäron Moalem MD, PhD. Larry Teng, who directed the first two episodes, joins forces with Aaron Kaplan from Kapital Entertainment and Brian Morewitz. The show is produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Fans with Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscriptions will have the option to stream live through their local CBS affiliate, while Paramount+ Essential subscribers can catch the episodes on-demand the following day.
