Mariam Saleh Bin Laden has once again made history as she completed the Khalid Bin Hamad Swimming Challenge—from Khobar, Saudi Arabia, to Salman City, Bahrain—in an impressive 11 hours, 25 minutes, and 47 seconds.

Mariam was warmly welcomed at the finish line by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The royal reception highlighted the monumental nature of her achievement, with Sheikh Khalid praising her courage and resilience. “This is a monumental moment in Gulf sports,” he said, emphasizing the significance of her accomplishment for the region.

No stranger to making history, Mariam first made waves in 2016 when she became the first Gulf woman to swim across the English Channel, a grueling 21-mile challenge. Just a year later, she shattered another barrier by completing a 24-kilometer swim across Dubai Creek, once again pushing the boundaries of endurance sports in the region.
