Uma Thurman is set to join Michael C. Hall in the upcoming Paramount+ with Showtime series Dexter: Resurrection, reported Deadline in an exclusive report. The award-winning actress, known for her roles in Pulp Fiction, Hysterical Blindness, and Smash, has been tapped as a series regular in the latest installment of the Dexter universe. Thurman’s casting is one of the most significant in the franchise, making her a standout addition to the show.
Production on Dexter: Resurrection began in New York this month, following the success of the Dexter prequel series Dexter: Original Sin. The prequel became Showtime’s most streamed premiere with over 2.1 million global viewers and set records as the most social premiere with 657,000 interactions. This momentum sets the stage for the return of the iconic series.
Thurman will play Charley, the head of security for billionaire Leon Prater. A former Special Ops officer, Charley has an extensive background in high-level private security jobs before becoming Prater’s trusted, meticulous right-hand woman. Hall will reprise his role as Dexter Morgan, alongside returning cast members David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott, who will play Detective Angel Batista, Dexter’s father Harry Morgan, and Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan, respectively.
Clyde Phillips, who serves as showrunner, will executive produce the series alongside Hall, Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Marcos Siega will direct six episodes, with Monica Raymund helming four. Set to premiere this summer, Dexter: Resurrection is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios, and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Thurman has recently starred in the hit Prime Video series Red, White and Royal Blue and Paul Schrader’s Oh, Canada, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. She is also featured in The Kill Room and will soon appear in the indie action film Ballerina Overdrive. Thurman is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
