Mumbai witnessed a grand celebration as Ravin Group marked its 75th anniversary, underscoring a legacy of innovation and sustainability. The evening brought together prominent industry leaders, policymakers, Bollywood celebrities, and business magnates to honor the company’s contributions to India’s infrastructure and its vision for a greener future.
Themed “Taking a Sustainable India to the World,” the event showcased Ravin Group’s dedication to environmental responsibility and innovation. In a highlight announcement, Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn was named the Global Ambassador for World Environment Day 2025. Devgn expressed his gratitude, saying, “It is an immense pleasure to be the flag-bearer for a greener tomorrow. Small changes can make a big difference, and I am committed to helping drive this vision forward.”
Prominent figures like Ms. Pankaja Munde, Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry, Environment, and Climate Change, lent their support to the initiative. Munde emphasized the ministry’s commitment to building a sustainable future, aligning with Ravin Group’s mission.
The event also celebrated Ravin Group’s remarkable legacy. Under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Karia, the company has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s infrastructure, from metro projects like Maha Metro Aqua Line to pioneering affordable XLPE cables. Speaking on the occasion, Karia said, “We are proud to be part of India’s growth story, with sustainability, reliability, and innovation at the core of everything we do. We are excited to continue this journey and contribute to the global push for environmental responsibility.”
Bollywood actor and businessman Vivek Oberoi highlighted the importance of collective action, saying, “It is heartening to see industry leaders come together for a common cause—ensuring that the future of our country and our planet is in safe hands.” Asif Bhamla, founder of Bhamla Foundation, also expressed optimism about the partnership with Ravin Group, calling it a shared commitment to creating lasting change.
The glamorous evening was attended by political figures, including Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan and Union Ministers Ashish Shelar and Anurag Thakur. Bollywood stars such as Malaika Arora, Sonu Nigam, Jackie Shroff, and Gulshan Grover added their voices to the cause, highlighting the growing role of celebrities in supporting environmental efforts.
Ravin Group also honored distinguished individuals with sustainability awards, celebrating contributions to environmental and societal progress. Recipients included Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar, Sonu Nigam, Vivek Oberoi, and the late Rohit Patel, among others.
