Dylan O’Brien is set to star alongside Rachel McAdams in Send Help, a survival horror thriller from 20th Century Studios. Helmed by Sam Raimi, who is also producing the project, the film promises an intense battle of wits and survival on a deserted island.

The story follows two colleagues, the sole survivors of a devastating plane crash, who find themselves stranded in isolation. As they confront personal grievances and attempt to work together, their survival transforms into a gripping clash of willpower and cunning. The screenplay is an original work by Baywatch writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, with Zainab Azizi joining the production under the Raimi Productions banner. A theatrical release is expected.

For Dylan O’Brien, this marks another major milestone in what has already been an exceptional 2024. He earned widespread praise for his portrayal of a young Dan Aykroyd in Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night, a behind-the-scenes account of the first-ever Saturday Night Live broadcast. Premiering at both the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival, the film cemented O’Brien’s status as a versatile and acclaimed actor.

Earlier in the year, he appeared in Caddo Lake, a thriller produced by M. Night Shyamalan and directed by Logan George and Celine Held. O’Brien also made a memorable guest appearance in Julio Torres’ series Fantasmas, which premiered on Max in June.

January 2024 saw O’Brien’s Ponyboi debut at the Sundance Film Festival, where it competed and later won the Grand Jury Award at NewFest, New York’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival. The film is slated for release later this year.

Adding to his Sundance streak, O’Brien will return in 2025 with Twinless, a film competing in the U.S. Dramatic Competition, where he also served as an executive producer.

O’Brien is represented by WME, Principal Entertainment, and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark.
