Jackie Chan’s latest film, The Shadow’s Edge, has officially completed principal photography. Directed by Larry Yang, the production began in October 2024, with filming taking place in the vibrant city of Macau. This marks the second collaboration between Chan and Yang, following the success of their 2023 film Ride On, which achieved remarkable international box office success, including becoming the highest-grossing Chinese film in Japan since 2022.

The Shadow’s Edge sees Jackie Chan stepping into the role of a retired surveillance expert from the Macau Police Service. Called back to duty, he teams up with a group of skilled young detectives to outwit a crew of cunning thieves. The film pits traditional investigative techniques against cutting-edge technology, creating an intense game of cat and mouse between law enforcement and criminals.

Joining Chan is a stellar ensemble cast, including Zhang Zifeng, Ci Sha, and Wen Junhui, the Chinese member of K-pop sensation SEVENTEEN. Fans of Jackie Chan will also be delighted to see him reunite with Tony Leung Ka Fai for the first time in nearly two decades; the two previously starred together in The Myth.

Golden Network Asia, a Hong Kong-based sales company, will present The Shadow’s Edge to international buyers at the upcoming European Film Market. The film is produced by Victoria Hon (Ride On) and is backed by iQIYI Pictures (Beijing), Tao Tickets, Hairun Pictures, and China ChenXiang.

Known for handling major Jackie Chan hits like Vanguard and Kung Fu Yoga, Golden Network Asia has once again partnered with Hairun Pictures to bring The Shadow’s Edge to global audiences.
