Barunson E&A, the production company behind Bong Joon-ho’s Oscar-winning Parasite, has joined forces with Thai studio GDH for Delete, a new feature expanding the universe of the hit Netflix series. The film will see the unsettling story—centered on a mysterious phone that can erase people from existence—move to Seoul, with Parkpoom Wongpoom returning as director and writer. Unlike the original series, which was predominantly Thai, Delete will primarily be shot in Korean.

The collaboration is part of Barunson E&A’s growing international expansion since launching global operations in 2022. The company has already invested in and handled sales for non-Korean films, including Taiwanese gangster rom-com Miss Shampoo and Vietnamese horror-comedy Don’t Cry, Butterfly. GDH, meanwhile, is behind some of Asia’s biggest box office successes, such as How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies and Bad Genius, the latter recently adapted into a Hollywood film produced by Erik Feig and Patrick Wachsberger.

In another major streaming move, Prime Video has ordered Mission Unknown: Atlantic, a German adventure reality show featuring social media sensation Jens ‘Knossi’ Knossalla. The series will push Knossi and a lineup of famous influencers—including Joey Kelly, Sophia Thiel, Marc Eggers, Affe auf Bike, Willi Whey, and Jodie Calussi—into an extreme journey across the Atlantic. Competitors will be split into teams and must navigate treacherous conditions, battling everything from torn sails and broken technology to sleep deprivation, seasickness, and stormy weather.

The first two episodes will drop on Prime Video Germany on February 28, before becoming available on Knossi’s YouTube channel two weeks later. Banijay Productions Germany is producing the show, continuing Amazon’s trend of working with social media stars in unconventional release formats. It follows the strategy used for 7 Vs Wild, which premiered on the now-defunct Amazon Freevee alongside YouTube.

Mission Unknown: Atlantic is a unique concept which bridges the gap between creators and traditional creatives,” said Arno Schneppenheim, Managing Director at Banijay Productions Germany. “By leveraging the popularity of the on-screen talent and our extensive, premium production expertise, we have a formidable format to bring to market.”

Produced in collaboration with DLS Consulting, the show marks another step in Prime Video’s push into the reality competition space, blending the reach of digital creators with the high-stakes drama of adventure television.

Deadline first reported Barunson E&A’s involvement in Delete and Prime Video’s order for Mission Unknown: Atlantic.
