Netflix has officially wrapped filming on Firebreaker, a psychological thriller directed by David Victori and produced by Espotlight Media. The production took place across Spain, with filming locations spanning the Community of Madrid and Segovia.
Led by an impressive cast including Belén Cuesta, Joaquín Furriel, Enric Auquer, and Diana Gómez, the film also features rising talents Candela Martínez and Mika Villalba.
At the heart of Firebreaker is the story of Mara, who, alongside her daughter Lide, visits a secluded summer house in the forest to prepare it for sale following the death of her husband. She is joined by her brother-in-law Luis, his wife Elena, and their son. What begins as an emotional trip to find closure quickly spirals into a harrowing nightmare when Lide disappears just as a wildfire erupts nearby. As time runs out, the family’s desperation grows, and suspicion falls on Santi, the local forest ranger, pushing them into a tense and unpredictable battle for the truth.
Produced by Anxo Rodríguez and Ferran Tomás of Espotlight Media, the film is the latest addition to the company’s expanding slate of gripping narratives. Founded in 2020, Espotlight Media has rapidly gained recognition for its commitment to creator-driven storytelling. Among its past projects are You Would Do It Too (Disney+ Spain, Apple TV+), Los Farad (Prime Video), and Un nuevo amanecer (Atresplayer). The production house is also behind upcoming titles such as the horror series Dime tu nombre by Hugo Stuven (Prime Video, 2025).
