The horror-comedy Screamboat is set to terrorize UK and Irish audiences after Signature Entertainment secured distribution rights from DeskPop Entertainment. The film, which reimagines the classic Steamboat Willie character in a gruesome new light, stars David Howard Thornton—best known as Art the Clown from the Terrifier franchise—as a murderous mouse aboard a late-night New York City boat ride.

Joining Thornton in the cast are Teen Wolf star Tyler Posey, Kailey Hyman, Jesse Posey, Jesse Kove, and Brian Quinn. The film is helmed by Steven LaMorte, who co-wrote the script with Matthew Garcia-Dunn. LaMorte also produces alongside Amy Schumacher, Martine Melloul, Steven Della Salla, and Michael Leavy—key figures behind The Mean One and the Terrifier franchise.

The film’s grotesque creature design comes from Christian Beckman’s Quantum Creation FX, Inc., with concept art by Christian Cordella, known for his work on Avatar: The Way of Water.

Max Hart, Acquisitions & Development Executive at Signature Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the film to UK and Irish audiences. “Screamboat is a hilarious, gory ride and a must-watch for genre fans. Fresh off the success of Terrifier 3, we are excited to be bringing David Howard Thornton’s latest horror villain to terrorize UK and Irish audiences once again,” he told Deadline.

DeskPop Entertainment’s Executive Vice President Mat Levy echoed the excitement, emphasizing the film’s built-in fan base. “We are elated to partner with Signature Entertainment for Screamboat’s UK and Irish release. A company that has proven over and over that they know how to tap into a fan base – and boy does Screamboat already have the perfect built-in fan base – that we are excited to see Signature conquer and satisfy.”

With Screamboat set for its U.S. release in April via Iconic Events Releasing, UK and Irish horror fans can expect their own blood-soaked voyage soon.
