Prime Video has pulled back the curtain on the highly anticipated third season of The Wheel of Time, releasing an electrifying full-length trailer ahead of its global premiere on 13 March, 2025. Based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling fantasy saga, the series—co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios—continues to expand its sweeping world, where fate, magic, and power collide.
The new trailer teases a season filled with high-stakes drama, as Rosamund Pike’s Moiraine Damodred, a formidable Aes Sedai, wrestles with visions of the future while Rand al’Thor, played by Josha Stradowski, faces the terrifying burden of his destiny as the Dragon Reborn. With his growing power threatening to consume him, Rand must decide: will he fight for the Light or succumb to the Darkness?
Drawing heavily from The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in Jordan’s beloved series, Season Three takes viewers into uncharted territories, from the harsh deserts of the Aiel Waste to the treacherous port city of Tanchico and the mysterious, fog-drenched ruins of Rhuidean. As Rand and Moiraine undergo life-altering revelations, Marcus Rutherford’s Perrin Aybara embarks on his own transformative journey back in their hometown of Two Rivers—one that will leave him forever changed.
The season will debut with three episodes on 13 March, followed by weekly releases leading up to a gripping finale on 17 April, 2025.
The ensemble cast is packed with talent, including Daniel Henney, Zoë Robins, Madeleine Madden, Dónal Finn, Ceara Coveney, Sophie Okonedo, Natasha O’Keeffe, and Shohreh Aghdashloo, among others.
Showrunner Rafe Judkins, known for his work on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., leads an executive producing team that includes Rick Selvage, Larry Mondragon, Ted Field, Mike Weber, Marigo Kehoe, Ciaran Donnelly, Justine Juel Gillmer, Dave Hill, and Rosamund Pike.
Following the intense conclusion of Season Two, which saw Rand defeating the powerful Forsaken Ishamael and being proclaimed the Dragon Reborn, Season Three escalates the danger. The forces of Light are fractured—the White Tower is divided, the Black Ajah is on the loose, and ancient enemies return to the Two Rivers. Meanwhile, the remaining Forsaken close in, with Lanfear’s complicated relationship with Rand setting the stage for a pivotal clash between Light and Dark. As Moiraine and Egwene struggle to guide Rand down the right path, they face the grim reality that their mission may require sacrifice at any cost.
Since its debut, The Wheel of Time has cemented itself as a flagship series for Prime Video. When it premiered in 2021, it became the biggest original series debut in the platform’s history at the time, later ranking among Prime Video’s top three most-watched debuts alongside The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout. With over 100 million viewers worldwide and Certified Fresh ratings on Rotten Tomatoes for both prior seasons, the show continues to be a powerhouse in the fantasy genre.
