Frank Ocean has found the lead for his first-ever film, with Industry actor David Jonsson set to star in the untitled project. According to Variety, filming is already underway in Mexico City, though details of the plot remain under wraps. Jonsson gained recognition for his role as Augustus “Gus” Sackey in Industry, a drama following young graduates navigating the high-stakes world of London’s investment banking scene.

Beyond television, Jonsson has been making waves in film, starring in Alien: Romulus as Andy, an android and sibling to Cailee Spaeny’s lead character. His performance earned him a nomination for the BAFTA Rising Star Award, previously won by actors like John Boyega and Tom Holland. He also starred in the acclaimed British indie hit Rye Lane and is currently working on a Stephen King adaptation, The Long Walk, alongside Mark Hamill. As for Ocean, this marks his cinematic debut, adding another layer to his enigmatic career, with music releases remaining sporadic since 2016’s Blonde. Last year, the singer-songwriter teased fans with a glimpse of new music, hinting at potential projects on the horizon.
