Sony Pictures Entertainment and Crunchyroll have officially released the first trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle, the opening chapter of a new trilogy that will bring the blockbuster anime series to its dramatic conclusion.
Marking the final arc of the beloved Demon Slayer saga, Infinity Castle picks up directly after the events of the anime’s fourth season and transports viewers into the demon stronghold for a showdown that has been years in the making.
Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, the film follows Tanjiro Kamado and his allies from the Demon Slayer Corps as they navigate the deadly, labyrinthine stronghold of Muzan Kibutsuji – the Infinity Castle. The stakes couldn’t be higher: this is the beginning of the ultimate confrontation between the slayers and the demon elite.
The film, produced by Tokyo-based animation powerhouse Ufotable, is the fourth feature in the Demon Slayer cinematic universe. It follows the unprecedented success of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Mugen Train, which shattered records in 2020 with $507 million in global box office revenue, becoming the highest-grossing anime film of all time and Japan’s biggest box office hit in history.
Sony and Crunchyroll will begin rolling out the trilogy in North America on 12th September, with worldwide distribution rights excluding select Asian markets including Japan.
Since its anime debut in 2018, Demon Slayer, adapted from the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, has become a pop culture juggernaut, sparking a global anime renaissance. Its mix of emotional depth, high-octane action, and stunning animation has earned it legions of fans and critical acclaim.
This new trilogy promises a cinematic send-off worthy of its legacy—offering an immersive and emotional climax to one of the most beloved anime stories of the decade.
