Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone is officially the latest addition to Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair, joining a cast already led by Michael B. Jordan, who will also direct the film.

The high-profile remake is set to begin filming this summer in Europe and will be released exclusively in theaters on March 5, 2027. While Gladstone’s role is still under wraps, her casting marks a significant addition to a project already generating major buzz. She joins Oscar winner Kenneth Branagh, whose character details remain equally mysterious.

Jordan will star as the suave titular character Thomas Crown, while Taylor Russell has been tapped to play a private detective — echoing the classic cat-and-mouse dynamic that has defined earlier versions of the film.

Written by Drew Pearce, with earlier drafts contributed by Wes Tooke and Justin Britt-Gibson, the upcoming film draws inspiration from both the original 1968 classic and the 1999 remake. The story follows a wealthy man who turns to high-stakes heists for the thrill — only to find himself ensnared by an equally cunning investigator.

Behind the scenes, the production boasts a powerhouse team: Oscar-winning producer Charles Roven is attached, alongside Patrick McCormick and Marc Toberoff of Toberoff Productions. Notably, Alan Trustman, who penned the original 1968 screenplay, is serving as executive producer.

Gladstone’s addition comes on the heels of a breakout year. After making history as the first Native American to earn a Best Actress Oscar nomination for Killers of the Flower Moon, she has continued to build a compelling slate. Recent and upcoming credits include Fancy Dance, Jazzy, Hulu’s Under the Bridge, The Wedding Banquet remake, Lone Wolf opposite Bryan Cranston, and In Memoriam from Rob Burnett.
