Production is officially underway for Season 2 of Netflix’s hit Korean zombie series All of Us Are Dead, which first captivated global audiences with its gripping blend of YA drama and high-stakes horror in 2022. Adapted from Joo Dong-geun’s popular webtoon, the first season of the show became a breakout phenomenon, racking up more than 560 million viewing hours within its first 28 days and earning a spot in Netflix’s Top 10 non-English TV rankings in over 90 countries.
Season 2 promises a major narrative shift, placing the spotlight on Nam On-jo, portrayed once again by Park Ji-hu, as she transitions from high school survivor to Seoul-based college student. But peace proves fleeting as a new wave of infection hits the city, drawing On-jo back into the chaos she barely escaped.
The series will also reintroduce familiar faces from the Hyosan outbreak, including Yoon Chan-young as Cheong-san, Cho Yi-hyun as Nam-ra, and Lomon as Su-hyeok, whose stories now pivot to post-apocalyptic recovery and the emotional toll of survival—just as the undead threat re-emerges.
Joining the cast for Season 2 are Lee Min-jae (Weak Hero: Class 2), Kim Si-eun (Squid Game Season 2), and Yoon Ga-i, who portray a trio of university seniors hardened by survival, each with their own strategic approach to the infected world. Actor Roh Jae-won, known for his role in Squid Game Seasons 2 and 3, steps into the role of Han Du-seok, a National Intelligence Service team leader whose presence is set to bring new layers of tension and authority to the unfolding crisis.
The directing team of Lee JQ (Daily Dose of Sunshine) and Kim Nam-su returns to lead the second season, with Chun Sung-il (King the Land) once again penning the script. Together, they aim to deepen the series’ exploration of trauma, resilience, and societal collapse, all while delivering the genre thrills that made the original season a cultural juggernaut.
The renewal also reaffirms Netflix’s strategic commitment to Korean content, which continues to deliver on both popularity and prestige. Recent releases such as When Life Gives You Tangerines starring IU and Park Bo-gum, the culinary drama Culinary Class Wars, and the record-breaking Squid Game Season 3 have all bolstered the streamer’s investment in its Korean slate.
