Two decades after Avatar: The Last Airbender first captured hearts, the universe is expanding once again. Nickelodeon unveiled the first look at Avatar: Seven Havens, the next animated chapter in the beloved franchise during a special 20th anniversary panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday.

Set after the events of The Legend of Korra, Seven Havens follows two Earthbending twins, one of whom learns she is the new Avatar, who is the only being capable of mastering all four elements: air, water, earth, and fire. But this is no ordinary age of peace.

The new series is set in “a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm,” reads the official synopsis. “A young Earthbender discovers she’s the new Avatar after Korra – but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity’s destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization’s last strongholds collapse.”

The teaser image shown at Comic-Con features the young Avatar traveling through a rocky desert landscape with her animal companion (a hybrid between a cat and a lemur) trailing behind her. A companion walks beside her as a distant city glows beneath an eerie, luminescent sky.

The Comic-Con panel brought together a nostalgic reunion of Avatar voice talent, including Janet Varney (Korra), Mae Whitman (Katara), Zach Tyler Eisen (Aang), Jack De Sena (Sokka), Michaela Jill Murphy (Toph), Jennie Kwan (Suki), Dante Basco (Zuko), and Dee Bradley Baker (Appa). Also present were original series creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino, alongside composer Jeremy Zuckerman.

Besides this, a feature film titled The Legend of Aang: The Last Avatar is also in the works, set to hit theaters on 9 October, 2026. The cast includes Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Roman Zaragoza as Sokka, Dionne Quan as Toph, and features Steven Yeun and Dave Bautista in undisclosed villainous roles.
