On the seventh anniversary of the spy thriller Goodachari, the makers of its highly anticipated sequel G2 dropped new character posters featuring leads Adivi Sesh, Emraan Hashmi, and Wamiqa Gabbi, while announcing a theatrical release date of 1 May, 2026.

Adivi Sesh returns as Agent Gopi in the sequel, which is set to push the franchise into a much larger cinematic universe. The sleek new visuals and casting reveal signal a global ambition for the film, which moves beyond the original’s tightly woven narrative to explore an expanded world of espionage.

Director Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi helms the project, which has been mounted on a much grander scale by producers TG Vishwa Prasad (People Media Factory), Abhishek Agarwal (Abhishek Agarwal Arts), and AK Entertainments. After a massive 150-day shoot across six countries and 23 elaborate sets, production has officially wrapped.

“We’ve dared to dream bigger, taking this story to a global scale while keeping its soul deeply personal,” said Sesh, who also co-wrote the film. Applauding his fellow cast members, he added, “Their power-packed avatars have taken the scale and intensity of this film a notch higher.”

Rounding out the ensemble are Murali Sharma, Supriya Yarlagadda, and Madhu Shalini, with the film slated to release in five languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam, positioning it as a major pan-India tentpole.

Goodachari, which premiered in 2018, became a surprise hit by injecting a fresh sense of realism and intelligence into the Indian spy genre. Its success laid the groundwork for this more ambitious follow-up, which now sets its sights on competing with global espionage blockbusters without losing its cultural core.

Outside of G2, Sesh is also leading Dacoit, an upcoming action drama in which he stars opposite Mrunal Thakur.
