The 8th edition of the North-East Students’ Festival, NESt. Fest 2025, is taking place at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Organised by My Home India, the festival has grown into one of the nation’s most prominent platforms celebrating national integration. The event also marks two decades of My Home India’s work across the country.
Over 25,000 students and delegates participated in the two-day celebration with this year’s theme “From Culture to Climate: The Youth Mandate.” The festival brought young voices to the forefront of conversations on culture, youth empowerment, and environmental responsibility. Sessions on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and rainwater harvesting were planned, alongside a vibrant lineup of cultural performances and live music.
The cultural segment featured traditional art forms from all eight North-Eastern states, as well as Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and other regions. From folk dances and music to vivid displays of craftsmanship, the performances captured the essence of India’s cultural diversity.
Adding a musical flourish to the festival was an impressive roster of performers including Angelia N Marwein, Rito Riba, Dipakshi Kalita, Ruisang Pakhrin, Lilac & Jacks, Tete Sapam, and KL Pamei. The event also featured a heartfelt tribute to the late legendary singer Zubeen Garg, whose passing has left a void in the music community.
A major highlight of the festival was Arunodaya, the flagship technical session dedicated to sustainable development in the North-Eastern and Janajatiya regions. The session showcased student-driven ideas and innovations, illustrating how traditional wisdom and modern solutions can merge to address today’s challenges.
With its blend of cultural showcases, live performances, policy discussions, and youth-led initiatives, NESt. Fest 2025 was more than just a celebration, it’s a convergence of tradition, innovation, and purpose.
