Zoom Communications has partnered with NVIDIA to take enterprise artificial intelligence to the next level, unveiling a new era of customized, high-performance AI solutions for businesses across sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government.

The collaboration expands Zoom’s federated AI architecture to integrate NVIDIA’s open technologies, including Nemotron models, to support the upcoming AI Companion 3.0. The partnership is set to deliver faster, more intelligent, and cost-efficient AI-driven collaboration tools tailored to enterprise needs.

At the core of this effort is Zoom’s hybrid language model framework, designed to intelligently route user queries between proprietary Small Language Models (SLMs)—optimized for specific, low-latency tasks—and a fine-tuned Large Language Model (LLM) for complex reasoning. This approach, powered by NVIDIA’s infrastructure and AI stack, aims to strike the perfect balance between speed, cost, and performance for enterprise users.

Zoom’s AI Companion now benefits from a 49-billion-parameter LLM based on NVIDIA Nemotron, developed with NVIDIA NeMo tools. The architecture enables customers to harness both open and closed AI models, unlocking deeper reasoning, faster workflows, and improved cost efficiency.

The integration also strengthens Zoom’s federated AI system, which dynamically selects the best-performing model for each task. This includes the Llama Nemotron Super-based reasoning model, expanding Zoom’s proven capabilities in real-time transcription, translation, and summarization to even greater levels of accuracy and scalability.

“We’ve increased our speed and enhanced lower-cost model decision making using NVIDIA GPUs and AI software stack, helping to optimize AI Companion’s core capabilities and enable faster go-to-market timelines,” said X.D. Huang, chief technology officer at Zoom. “With the help of NVIDIA Nemotron open technologies, we’re accelerating the development of our enterprise retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities, allowing AI Companion to work seamlessly with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, Slack, Salesforce, and ServiceNow. This partnership allows us to deliver powerful, security-focused, and scalable AI experiences to our customers at rapid speed.”

The companies say this collaboration will accelerate AI innovation and enterprise readiness, driving smarter automation and more personalized AI environments for users.

“The integration of NVIDIA Nemotron into Zoom AI Companion allows enterprises like NVIDIA to experience a private, powerful, and personalized work environment for enhanced productivity,” said Kari Briski, vice president of generative AI software at NVIDIA. “Our collaboration with Zoom to bring smart and efficient AI reasoning to customers is just beginning.”

The partnership marks a significant step in advancing Zoom’s vision of intelligent, adaptable AI tools that learn from individual workflows while maintaining enterprise-grade privacy and performance.
