Tomorrowland, one of Europe’s most influential electronic dance music festivals, will host its first-ever full-fledged Asia edition in Thailand this December, marking a significant expansion of the globally renowned event.

Organisers announced on Tuesday that Thailand was selected for its “growing influence on the global stage of music, innovation, and experience-driven tourism.” The festival will take place in the beach town of Pattaya from December 11 to 13, with more than 50,000 attendees expected each day.

Founded 20 years ago by Belgian brothers Manu Beers and Michiel Beers, Tomorrowland has grown into one of the world’s most iconic celebrations of electronic dance music. Its annual Belgian edition is known for elaborate stage designs, immersive themes and large-scale international audiences.

While Tomorrowland has previously hosted individual events in several Asian cities, this will be the first time the festival stages a complete, multi-day edition in Asia on a scale comparable to its flagship Belgian event.

Pre-registration for tickets will open on January 8. A three-day “full madness pass” is priced at 12,500 baht ($400), while single-day tickets will be available for 5,100 baht. Organisers said further details on the festival’s theme and artist line-up will be announced in the coming months.

Thailand has finalised a five-year agreement with Tomorrowland to host the event and expects it to generate approximately 21 billion baht ($673 million) in economic impact over that period, according to Thai media reports.

“Expanding Tomorrowland to a new continent is a milestone we approach with great respect and excitement… This is the beginning of a long-term story,” said Bruno Vanwelsenaers, chief executive officer of Tomorrowland.

The announcement reflects Thailand’s growing prominence on the global live music circuit. In recent years, the country has hosted major international festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival and Creamfields, while Bangkok featured as a stop on Blackpink’s world tour last October. Thailand’s homegrown arts and music festival Wonderfruit has also gained international attention, drawing tens of thousands of visitors annually.

With Tomorrowland’s arrival, Thailand is set to further cement its position as a major destination for global music tourism.
