Prime Video has released the official trailer and key art for Young Sherlock, a new mystery series directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a younger version of the legendary detective Sherlock Holmes. The eight-episode series is set to premiere on 4 March, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

Described as an irreverent and action-packed origin story, Young Sherlock traces the early years of the world’s most famous sleuth before he becomes the iconic resident of Baker Street. The series reimagines his adolescence in Victorian England, blending mystery, adventure and international intrigue.

The story begins when a rebellious young Sherlock crosses paths with his future nemesis, James Moriarty, and is drawn into a murder investigation that puts his freedom at risk. What starts as his first major case soon unfolds into a globe-spanning conspiracy, culminating in a confrontation that shapes the course of his life. Along the way, viewers see the formative experiences that mould him into the master detective he will later become.

Set against the backdrop of vibrant Victorian Britain and international locations, the series explores the early exploits of a brilliant but unruly teenager, still far from the composed figure audiences know.

Previously announced cast members include Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth. Ritchie has directed the first two episodes and also serves as an executive producer.

The show is created for television and executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, alongside Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton and Colin Wilson. Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson serve as co-executive producers, while Motive Pictures led the physical production.

With its blend of high-energy storytelling, period detail and fresh character dynamics, Young Sherlock aims to offer a bold new perspective on one of literature’s most enduring figures when it arrives on Prime Video in March 2026.
