Manchester United vs Chelsea – Live Commentary

The traditional battle between the two giants of Premier League, Man Utd and Chelsea.

2′ – Early attack by Man Utd with Lingard passing beautifully towards Fellani.

5′ – struggle between Fellani and Matic and Fellani did well with the first ball. Ultimately fouled by Matic.

6′ – It’s corner for Man Utd. Blind takes it. Costa puts it out again. Corner no. 2 for Man Utd.

8′ – Jackson puts a shot on target.

11′ – Man Utd corner again with Ivanovic putting the ball out.

13′ – good play by Man Utd. Takes a shot on target. Save by Courtois.

15′ – Chelsea with a quick attack. Oscar gets his shot blocked.

17′ – SAVE! Excellent touch and save by Courtois as Martial shoots to get the top right corner.

18′ – Costa goes forward with the ball but an outstanding tackle from Man Utd stops his run.

19′ – Man Utd have more of the ball as of now and Chelsea seem to be getting only chances with it.

21′ – Clever run by Martial. Put out by Ivanovic and it’s a corner for Man Utd.

22′ – Smalling’s header off the corner gets deflected and it’s a corner again.

23′ – Blind takes the corner and Fellani is unable to connect to it.

25′ – and it’s the first Chelsea corner of the match. Willian to take it.

25′ – Costa heads Willian’s delivery outside.

26′ – Costa puts his case angrily to the referee about the header being Blind’s.

32′ – Excellent work by Chelsea. Wonderful accurate passing that Man Utd is unable to reply to. Oscar’s shot goes off target.

34′ – MISS! Amazing skill by Willian as he brilliantly works past Jackson to pass to Oscar who misses to touch the ball right in front of the goal.

39′ – Utd’s corner and Fellani heads it out. Difficult one for him.

43′ – excellent work by Utd. Wonderful passing. Lovely flick by Lingard. Only Rooney misses the ball minutely inside the box.

45′ – Counter attack by Chelsea. Terry misses it right in the box. Chelsea appeal for handball but they only get a corner.

Half time: Both Man Utd and Chelsea had an attacking gameplay. Man Utd began good but Chelsea picked up very well some 20 minutes into the game. Controversial point in the half with Chelsea not getting the handball.

MUN 0-0 CHE

49′ – Martial gets a shot off target. A good second half start for Man Utd.

53′- SAVE! Excellent shot by Lingard and an even better save by Courtois. Keeping Chelsea alive.

55′ – CHE SUB: Hazard in place of Oscar.

55′ – Zouma injured bad after falling awkwardly. Cahill comes in place of him.

61′ – GOAL! Amazing goal by Lingard. He gets the ball and turns around and fires in the top corner. Brilliant!

MUN 1-0 CHE

63′ – Blind booked for running into Costa.

65′ – CHE SUB: Pedro in place of Matic.

68′ – SAVE! De Gea makes a vigilant save from Ivanovic great technique. Ivanovic caught hold of a high ball and shot a volley.

72′ – SAVE! De Gea saves Fabregas showcases his brilliant skill inside the box to fool the defenders.

79′ – UTD SUB: Morgan Schneiderlin comes in for Fellani.

83′ – Smalling booked for handball.

86′ – UTD SUB: Lingard off. Delay in.

87′ – Costa falls in the box after colliding with Smalling but isn’t awarded a penalty.

90′ – six minutes of time added.

90+1′ – GOAL! Costa slides the ball home from a tough angle as the Utd defenders miss Fabregas’ ball in the middle.

MUN 1-1 CHE

90+4′ – Rooney comes close beating Ivanovic but the shot lands on the roof of the net.

90+6′ – SAVE! De Gea makes a crucial save as Costa shoots close to near post.

Full time: It was a display of attacking football from both teams and Chelsea continue their unbeaten streak since Hiddink’s arrival. ManChester United are unable to get those important 3 points and settle for 1.
