Thursday 8th September 2016, London, UK – The next song from Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s poignant tragic love story is out, Teen Gawah Hain Ishq Ke, a moving love song talking about the complete isolation of true love between two soul mates who dared to love.
The film is based on the legend of Mirza-Sahiban, a popular Punjabi folklore. And in recreating this legend, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya has been exquisitely shot in the bleak and desolate terrain of Ladakh and the vibrancy of colourful Rajasthan, which heightens the contrast between the two worlds of folklore and contemporary, yet are interwoven very intricately to bring out the story of a legend that will never die. The eternal love story resonates even today in the modern day world of Rajasthan in 2016, as seen in this song, and is a befitting testimony to two eternal and rebellious lovers.
As the lovers grapple with forces that seek to keep them apart in both avatars, they discover that a moment of true love together is worth sacrificing lifetimes apart.
The film introduces Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher, along with Anuj Chaudhary, all of whom make a dramatic entry into the world of cinema in this untold love story of estranged soul mates. Along with them are screen masters, Om Puri, Art Malik, K. K. Raina as well as a supporting role by Anjali Patil.
Produced by Cinestaan Film Company and ROMP Pictures, and releasing on 7th October worldwide, this ageless epic is brought to life by the BAFTA Awards nominee and three times National Award recipient, the director of Rang De Basanti,Delhi-6 and Bhaag Milka Bhaag, in his inimitable vision, in the words of famed poet and lyricist, Dadasaheb Phalke recipient and Oscar winner Gulzar.
