One of this year’s most awaited movies – Thugs Of Hindostan had a trailer launch recently. The trailer was launched in honor of the late director, Yash Chopra‘s 80th birthday, in the presence of the film’s lead actors and actresses; Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Katrina Kaif at the event. Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, who previously directed the blockbuster, Dhoom 3, takes the viewers to 18th century British India time period with his latest venture, Thugs of Hindustan. A time when the East India Company has taken over India, all but for few a thugs have shunned the idea of slavery. This creates conflict, which is the basic premise of Thugs of Hindustan. One can’t help but find many resemblances from Disney’s franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean. Aamir Khan’s scruffy attires, kohl-drawn eyes and carefree attitude may find many inspirations In the trailer, actors Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan seems to take most of the screen time, leaving little to no presence for the film’s leading ladies, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif. This is the second time actress Katrina Kaif has teamed up with Aamir Khan and director Vijay Krishna Acharya; their previous was the 2013 YRF blockbuster franchise movie, Dhoom 3. In that movie, the actress only had 12 minutes of screen time, which mostly consisted of songs, and short scenes with Aamir Khan. One can’t help but wonder if Katrina Kaif will have a similar experience – short screen time dedicating to songs and short scenes with Aamir Khan – in this movie too?! What do you think of the three-minute trailer? About Author SoniaK My name is Sonia. I am 25 years old. Currently living in USA. Recently graduated with master’s in social work.
