As we mentioned earlier this week, we saw the first glimpse for the Mulan remake which had us all on the edge of ours seats and excited for what is to come in the reinvention of the Disney classic. You know who else was excited for it? The original voice of Mulan, Ming-Na Wen who you may know from The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. She took to Twitter to share her excitement with the rest of her fans writing, “EPIC!!! Excited to see this #Mulan. Love seeing my friends @rosalindchao & @tzima8 as her parents. #YifeiLiu looks amazing as the warrior! ????????????” Similarly to Halle Bailey and Jodi Benson, what better approval can there be for the Liu Yifei who is portraying the new version of Mulan? What’s more, there seems to be support across the board from Disney fans for the new movie. However, the only problem that seems to be coming is that there hasn’t been any sign yet of the charismatic dragon, Mushu who was voiced by comedian Eddie Murphy in the original. There still hasn’t been any official confirmation about when we will see Mushu or in what form but we can guarantee that it will fit into the new aesthetic that Disney have created for Mulan. It’s a lot more epic, feels more real and it also doesn’t have any music. So, sorry fans. There won’t be any ‘getting down to business to defeat the Huns’ this time around. Let’s just hope Disney can make up for it in other ways.
