With his entertaining work as Moriarty in BBC’s Sherlock and his recent performance as the ‘hot priest’ in Fleabag, Andrew Scott is working his way up the ladder in the industry. He has now landed himself the lead role of Mr. Ripley in the TV adaptation of the Patricia Highsmith novels. The adaptation will be lead by Steven Zaillian and will be very difference from the film adaptation starring Matt Damon in 1999. The series is comprised of eight episodes and will follow the story of Mr. Ripley after he is hired by a rich man to fetch his son and bring him back to America from Italy. For those of you that know the story, you know what happens. For those that don’t, expect plenty of murder, deceit and tension! Andrew Scott will also be part of the Modern Love anthology series by Amazon which starts next month and he will be in the second series of His Dark Materials.
