Zoe Kravitz has earned herself the role of Catwoman in The Batman, which is a new spin on the much loved DC superhero by Cloverfield‘s Matt Reeves.
Previously known for The Big Little Lies, Zoe will be taking on the role of Selina Kyle with her alter ego Catwoman. She will be co-starring with Robert Pattinson who is our new Batman. This was no easy feat, either, as the audition process was rigorous and saw her pinned against the likes of Eiza Gonzalez, Ella Balinska and Ana de Armas. But when she was put through a screen test with Pattinson, the role was in the bag.
The Batman promises to be different from any adaptation that we have previously seen, taking a noir spin on the comic book hero. Reeves said, “It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been.”
Production is due to begin later this year and will be released in the summer of 2021. We will update with more details as they are released.
