Actress Bhumi Pednekar On DURGAMATI: “Huge validation to headline movies”

Durgamati The Myth is out on Amazon Prime Video this Friday, 11^th December 2020

Actress Bhumi Pednekar is getting ready for her next release, Amazon Prime Video’s Durgamati. She says that the film has given her confidence as the producers trust her to take the responsibility to headline the film alone. The film is backed by fellow industry colleague Akshay Kumar and is all about conspiracy and powerful forces.

Speaking about working on this film, she says, 

“It is a huge validation for me that I have started headlining projects. ‘Durgamati’ is a film that will always be special and I will always be proud of it because Akshay sir thought I could shoulder it on my own. For a young actor like me, this gesture boosted my confidence, that top film producers consider me a good performer and are sure that the projects I’m associated with, will be a success”

The film is the actress’ third film in the year after Bhoot: The Haunted Ship. She also expresses that she is thankful for the audience to embrace her after her debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. 

She adds, 

“I owe everything to audiences and critics and thank them for always being there in my corner. I’m always motivated to challenge myself and push myself as an actor because of the love that I have got so far.”

The film is a remake of the director Ashok’s Telugu film Bhaagamathie (2018). Produced by Akshay Kumar and Bhushan Kumar, the horror-thriller is slated to be released this Friday, 11^th December 2020 by Amazon Prime Videoand will be available to 200 countries and territories to stream.
