Actor and model Sidharth Shukla passed away this morning due to a heart attack, at the age of 40. He gained immense popularity after winning the most-watched show Bigg Boss 13. “No injuries were sustained on the actor’s body and the cause of death is yet to be ascertained,” as per a statement by Mumbai Police to ANI. The statement also said that a team of police officers were present at Shukla’s residence to further investigate the matter. Dr. R Sukhdeve of Cooper hospital has confirmed that the actor was brought dead to the hospital. The post mortem examination is yet to begin since the police procedures are still going on, as reported by the Indian Express. Shukla started his career with Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na; a Hindi TV show that aired in 2008. He also appeared in shows such as Love U Zindagi, Aahat, and CID. However, Shukla’s major career breakthrough came with the popular TV show Balika Vadhu, where he was playing the main lead. Following the show, Shukla made several appearances in reality shows such as India’s Got Talent, Khatron Ke Khiladi 7, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6, Bigg Boss 13, as well as Bigg Boss 14. Shulka received much appreciation and recognition since winning both Khatron Ke Khiladi 7 and Bigg Boss 13. Besides working in various TV shows of different formats, Sidharth also worked in blockbuster movies alongside mainstream actors. He was seen in Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan-starrer Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. Sidharth was also featured in several music videos with his close friend and former Bigg Boss contestant Shehnaaz Gill, including tracks like “Bhula Dunga” and “Shona Shona.” Sidharth was last seen in Broken But Beautiful 3, a web-series. After the shocking news came, social media was flooded with messages and posts in remembrance of Sidharth Shukla. Celebrities and colleagues of the actor took to social media to pay their tribute. Her father Santokh Singh Sukh said, “I am not in the condition to talk right now. I cannot believe whatever has happened.” When asked if he talked to Shehnaaz, he said, “I spoke to her. She is not fine. My son Shehbaaz has left for Mumbai to be with her and I will be going later.” Later, his PR team released a statement to the media requesting some privacy for the family during this tragic time. The statement read, “All of you have heard the shocking news, we are as much in shock as you all are. We have a request. We really want all of you to respect and stand with us during these tough times. As Sidharth’s PR team we humbly request the media to draw a line and give his family and loved ones space and let them grieve. We are all in pain! We are as shocked as you are!
