Kareena Kapoor Khan to make OTT debut with Sujoy Ghosh’s ‘Jaane Jaan’ on Netflix

Indian actress Kareena Kapoor Khan is all set to make her OTT debut on Netflix with Sujoy Ghosh directed crime thriller. The film titled ‘Jaane Jaan’ is an adaptation of 2005 Japanese novel, The Devotion of Suspect X, written by author Higashino Keigo.

The film will have its Netflix premiere on 21st September 2023, sharing Kapoor Khan’s birthday celebrations.

In her first digital venture, the actress will share screen with actor Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat. Netflix announced the news with the launch of film’s first teaser, in which Kapoor Khan can be seen lip sync a cover version of the famous song ‘Aa Jaane Jaan’, from the 1969 Hindi movie Intaqam. Kapoor Khan plays a divorced single mother alongside Vijay Verma in a role of police officer and Jaideep Ahlawat’s look igniting more curiosity among viewers.

Sharing the teaser on social media platform, Khan wrote, “Jaane Jaan is coming on our very own Jaane Jaan’s birthday. Mark your calendars for a present like no other. #JaaneJaan arrives on 21 September, only on Netflix!”

Ghosh is known for his signature style of making crime thrillers has gained popularity with films like Kahaani and Badla. Referring to his work Ghosh said, “Jaane jaan is based on the book which has been the love of my life for a long long time. From the day I read Devotion of Suspect X, I wanted to adapt it into a film.”

“It was the most amazing love story I had ever read and today thanks to Kareena, Jaideep and Vijay that story is alive on screen. We all worked very hard to tell this story and hopefully the audience will love it as much as we do,” he added.

The film is being produced by Jay Shewakramani’s Northern Lights Films and Akshai Puri’s 12th Street Entertainment.
