The trailer Farhan Akhtar’s new crime thriller ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ has been released on Monday and the streaming partner Prime Video India has set a global premiere date on 14th September, 2023.
Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment’s Ritesh Sidhwani, Kassim Jagmagia and Farhan Akhtar, the 10 episodes web series is based in post-independence India drawing narration from S. Hussain Zaidi story ‘Lahore Confidential’.
The series, which has been crafted by Rensil D’Silva and Shujaat Saudaga and directed by Saudagar revolves around the life of young man torn between his father’s law enforcement legacy and his own journey into the heart of organized crime.
The leading cast of the web series has some of the talented actors including Kay Kay Menon, Avinash Tiwary, Kritika Kamra, Nivedita Bhattacharya and Amyra Dastur.
Farhan Akhtar took to his social media to share the release date of the series, and wrote, “Time to crown the new king of Bambai! Bambai Meri Jaan On Prime, new series, Sept 14.”
Aparna Purohit, head of India originals, Prime Video spoke about the upcoming crime thriller, said, “Bambai Meri Jaan is an intricate and intriguing story of dreams and ambitions, where the insatiable hunger for power defines one’s choices. The story is like an immaculate symphony that delves deep into the psyche and emotions of its key characters, as they struggle with the consequences of their own choices.”
Earlier also, Excel Media and Entertainment and Prime Video has collaborated for many successful projects such as Inside Edge, Made in Heaven and Mirzapur.
