Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ and Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ continued to stand out with maximum trophies and nominations in various awards functions.
At the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, Oppenheimer bagged a total of eight trophies including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Visual Effects, Editing, Cinematography and Background Score. Meanwhile, Barbie received six awards including Original Screenplay, Production Design, Costume Design, Hair and Makeup and Best Song for “I’m Just Ken.”
Meanwhile, Emma Stone won Best Actress for Searchlight’s ‘Poor Things’ and Paul Giamatti received Best Actor for Focus Features’ ‘The Holdovers’. Giamatti also won a Golden Globe. The small screen categories of Critics Choice Awards had a lot of similarities with the Golden Globe as Netflix’s ‘Beef’; FX’s ‘The Bear’ and HBO’s ‘Succession’ taking Best Limited Series, Comedy, and Drama respectively.
Repeating the same line-up of Golden Globe, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook won Best Actor and Actress in Drama for ‘Succession’ and Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri took Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy Series for FX’s The Bear.
