69th Filmfare Awards: ‘12th Fail’ wins Best Film; Ranbir, Alia win Best Actor/Actress

The 69th Filmfare Awards returned with a celebration of excellence in the Hindi film industry. The two-day award ceremony took place in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, hosted by Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Maneish Paul, along with captivating performances and memorable moments.

This year, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s “12th Fail” won the Best Film, meanwhile Chopra won the Best Director trophy. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt won Best Actor in a Leading Role for “Animal” and “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani”, respectively.

The Best Actor Critics award was given to Vikrant Messey for “12th Fail”, whereas Rani Mukerji and Shefali Shah received Best Actress Critics for ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ and ‘Three Of Us’, respectively.

The ceremony also recognized talent behind the scenes, with awards for Best Story, Screenplay, Background Score, Cinematography, Production Design, and more. Notable mentions include Amit Rai for ‘OMG 2’ and Devashish Makhija for ‘Joram’ in the Best Story category, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar for Best Background Score for ‘Animal’.

The festival celebrated debutants, with Aditya Rawal, Alizeh Agnihotri, and Tarun Dudeja winning Best Debut awards. The Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon David Dhawan for his significant contributions to the industry.
