Poonam Pandey today posted a video on Instagram saying “I didn’t die because of cervical cancer” after her team announced the news of her death on social media on Friday. In the video, she further talked about how cervical cancer is need awareness among women of our society. Sharing a link for reading in her insta bio, she said, “Together, let’s strive to put an end to the devastating impact of the disease and bring #DeathToCervicalCancer”. Yesterday, when the news of her demise came in, many speculated of it being a false news or a publicity stunt despite being clarified by her team and manager Nikita Sharma. While Poonam’s unexpected ‘death’ was mourned by numerous fans and celebrities on Friday, the unexpected silence from her family and close friends were matter of concern. The model-actor said that the “death” post was an effort to initiate a conversation and spread awareness about cervical cancer. “I am sorry caused this tear and I am sorry to those I have hurt. My intention: to shock everyone into the conversation that we are not talking enough about – cervical cancer,” she said in another post.
