Indian actor Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat are all set to lead Robbie Grewal’s directorial action thriller ‘Jewel Thief’. The Netflix original heist-based action thriller will be produced by Siddharth Anand under his banner, Marflix, according to media reports.

According to a Pinkvilla report, the film’s title ‘Jewel Thief’ is not related to the original film starring the legendary Dev Anand.

“Siddharth Anand had this title registered under his banner and believes that the tile is apt for the subject of this Robbie Grewal directorial,” it reported citing a source close to the development.

The shooting of the film has been completed and it is all set to premiere on Netflix later this year. Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat will be seen engaging in an electrifying fight sequence in the film.

The film reunites Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan after a long time. Their previous collaborations include rom-com hits like ‘Salaam Namaste’ and ‘Tara Rum Pum’.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla during the promotions of ‘Fighter,’ Anand teased details about ‘Jewel Thief,’ describing it as a “fun action film” with a quirky twist. He expressed his excitement for the project, indicating that all his creative energy is focused on bringing this unique story to life.

According to sources ‘Jewel Thief’ has been acquired by Netflix for a staggering sum of Rs 60 crore, positioning it as one of the streaming platform’s major attractions for the year. This marks a significant move in the realm of direct-to-digital feature films from the Indian film industry.

Meanwhile, director Siddharth Anand is currently involved in finalizing the scripts for his two upcoming productions, each helmed by Rohit Dhawan and Sujoy Ghosh, respectively. The former project, featuring Tiger Shroff in the lead role, is in the works, while the latter promises to be a high-octane action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.
