Kiara Advani cast as female lead in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 3’

Indian actor Kiara Advani will play the lead role alongside Ranveer Singh in ‘Don 3’, confirmed Excel Entertainment in a social media post.

In 2023, the production house first revealed that Ranveer Singh will be replacing Shah Rukh Khan’s character in the film along with a fresh cast.

After a prolonged hiatus, Farhan Akhtar’s production house has finally announced the leading lady, welcoming Kiara Advani. Sharing the news of joining the Don franchise, the production house wrote, “Welcome to the Don universe @kiaraaliaadvani #Don3 (sic).”

Soon after the announcement was made, the actress shared a clip and said that she was all excited and thrilled to be part of the iconic Don franchise. “Seeking all your love and support as we set out on this exciting journey together (clapper board emoji),” she wrote on X.

However, the details about Advani’s character have been kept tightly under wraps. It is believed that the actress might play a negative role in the film. Advani’s character will have a fresh makeover and will have no adaptation from the character of Roma, portrayed by Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the previous Don franchises, according to reports.

In 2006, Don starring Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Boman Irani was released and won Best Asian Film at the Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival.

Later in 2011, Farhan Akhtar made the sequel ‘Don 2’. Akhtar’s directorial was a remake of 1978’s Don, featuring Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role.
