Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi thriller series, “Parasyte: The Grey,” is slated for a 5th April debut, offering viewers a chilling premise of parasitic life-forms infiltrating Korea. Inspired by Hitoshi Iwaaki’s acclaimed manga “Parasyte,” which has sold over 25 million copies worldwide, the series promises to chart its own unique course while staying true to the imaginative world and profound message of the original.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, known for projects like “Train to Busan,” and featuring a screenplay by Yeon Sang-ho and Ryu Yong-jae, “Parasyte: The Grey” brings together a talented cast led by Jeon So-nee. The story revolves around Su-in, portrayed by Jeon So-nee, as she grapples with the unexpected coexistence with a parasite, amidst a backdrop of mysterious parasites preying on humans.
Joining Jeon So-nee are actors Koo Kyo-hwan, Lee Jung-hyun, Kwon Hae-ho, Kim In-kwon, and others, each contributing to the rich tapestry of characters in the series. Koo Kyo-hwan takes on the role of Kang-woo, driven by a quest to find his missing sister while fighting against the parasitic threat. Lee Jung-hyun portrays Jun-kyung, the determined leader of the anti-parasite task force known as “Team Grey.”
